NBA draft order 2014 news has slight shifts taking place in the standings. While the exact 2014 NBA Draft order won't be set until the lottery takes place, the rough list from which the ping pong balls will be decided is starting to take shape. It's interesting to note that the LA Lakers beat the Phoenix Suns on Sunday night (March 30), causing the team to risk sliding further down the projected list thanks to several recent wins.

Updated Playoff Standings

The Milwaukee Bucks still hold on to the worst record in the league at 14-59, despite the 16-57 Philadelphia 76ers recently losing 26-straight games. Both franchises are extremely weak, but will have the most chances at nabbing a top pick in the lottery this offseason. They are followed by the 21-53 Orlando Magic and 23-51 Utah Jazz as the worst teams in the game right now. The Memphis Grizzlies are also now in the mix for the top pick in the draft as they have slipped to the ninth seed in the Western Conference despite a 43-30 record on the season.

The 2014 NBA Draft order could get very interesting around the No. 8 selection, as the Detroit Pistons get to keep it if the pick is within the top eight. If they pick falls outside of the top eight, then it will go to the Charlotte Bobcats through a trade that they previously agreed to. The New Orleans Pelicans may also lose the No. 12 selection, unless the lottery gives them a top three pick, which would then allow them to take it back from the Philadelphia 76ers.

Another team that has moved further down is the Boston Celtics, as the team has played better recently than the Utah Jazz. It could cost them some ping pong balls when the lottery takes place and possibly force them out of the elite top five players expected to join the league soon.
