NBA City Restaurant, located within Target Center on 600 North 1st Avenue in Downtown Minneapolis, is a classy joint featuring a cutting-edge sports entertainment atmosphere that can hardly be matched in Minneapolis.

The food is by no means spectacular, but it is good and has gotten much better over the years. The menu is pretty short and includes American favorites like sandwiches, pizza and salads. NBA City focuses more on the entertainment factor and attracting guests to the Courtside bar for drinks.

Besides having 35 high definition big screens inside the restaurant, NBA City has Target Center floor just across the hallway, a commodity that not many restaurants have. Fans can arrive early to the game, grab a sandwich and a drink, step out into the hallway and watch Wolves’ players make their entrance into the arena.

Now the Wolves obviously aren’t very good right now and haven’t been for some time, but the result has been a dramatic drop in ticket prices. And if the price is right, it’s still NBA basketball, regardless of if they win or lose.

The absence of fans has driven the Wolves to recently unleash a ticket sales campaign unmatched in their franchise’s history. Beginning in March all 2010-11 lower bowl season tickets are on sale for up to 50% off!

The team can’t give away tickets right now so it’s a very cheap and often entertaining night at Target Center these days, even if they lose.

NBA City has been struggling along with them and offers some pretty nice happy hours to get people in the door, especially when the Wolves aren’t playing. Half off everything behind the bar and discounted appetizers go from 4-7 and 9-10 everyday of the week.

To keep guests busy it even has an NBA store where people can buy exclusive NBA attire and memorabilia, arcades and games to test your basketball skills, and last but not least, basketball hoop garbage cans in the bathroom.

NBA City is an easy place to find as its sign is one of the biggest on First Ave!
