2K Sports announced the release of NBA 2K14 Tuesday (Oct.1), the highly anticipated installment to the NBA 2K basketball video game series. The game is now available for Microsoft’s Xbox 360, Sony’s Playstation 3 (PS3) and Windows PC consoles.
NBA 2K14 comes with gameplay enhancements including to the ability to dribble, pass and shoot using the Pro Stick controls. The game also includes updated features to offensive and defensive techniques to balance player interactions. The addition of new Signature Skills features highlights each player’s unique capabilities.
Living Rosters was updated to Dynamic Living Rosters, a feature that improves the game's realism. 2K Sports teamed up with Stats Inc. to include detailed player stats such as player movements, ratings and the actual on court trends the players are going through in real life. “Every player, every team in the game is going to be living through the system and they’re going to be reflected in the game,” NBA 2K14 producer, Zach Timmerman said in a promo reel. Users will notice that roster updates will come through much faster in NBA 2K14.
“Our goal with NBA 2K14 was to develop our finest basketball game yet by delivering more of our signature realism, incorporating innovative new controls, and adding unique game modes,” president of product development for 2K Sports, said Greg Thomas in a news release to Examiner Tuesday. “From our partnership with LeBron James to the meticulous refinements in gameplay, this year’s title cements NBA 2K’s legacy as the premier sports simulation experience,” Thomas said.
NBA 2K14 is set to be released for upcoming gaming consoles PlayStation 4 (PS4) on November 15 and Xbox One on November 22.
