NBA 2k10 Nintendo Wii preview

The cover art of NBA 2k10 featuring Kobe Bryant.

NBA 2K10 is the next game in the famous line of basketball games that has lasted over a decade.  The 2K basketball games are all very good and the series is considered by many to be the best sports franchise of not just the last decade, but all time.  NBA 2K10 looks promising on the Wii as it will have a bevy of features and provide an authentic basketball experience on the Nintendo Wii, something Madden 10 couldn’t do for football on the Wii.

The gameplay on NBA 2K10 looks very good.  It has all the features of the other consoles including a player career mode, online mode, and all the other usual modes in a 2K game.  The create-a-player career mode  looks good as you will make your own player and take him up through the ranks until you reach the NBA.  If you fail, you’ll suffer the fate of playing in the NBA D-League but there is still hope as you might get back to the show.  There is even an online mode where you and your friends can go and play games as a team with your created players against other teams of friends.  That to me is what video games are all about and it is the highlight of the game.

Here is a funny commercial for NBA 2K10 featuring Spike Lee:

I personally voted for Spike….

Speaking of Spike Lee and Kobe Bryant, here’s another video featuring them.  In this one, Kobe explains why the Knicks keep getting beat by great players:

In all seriousness, NBA 2K10 looks like a great game and a must have for the Wii.  Basketball is a great sport and very fun to play in video games.  Not only that the new features in NBA 2K10 could make it worth the buy.  2K will once again prove why they are the best at making basketball games.
