Where to even start?
Racism, of course is real. It has been leeched from our nation’s underbelly with the election and re-election of a mixed-race President. Not that it didn’t manifest prior but now it is available as accepted on the nightly news and in many political campaigns.
Again, for the ten millionth time, he is neither African nor purely Afro-American. As Wanda Sykes quipped: if Obama messes up, then he’s white.
Well, she’s half right. Bada Bing.
Sometimes, people who have been discriminated for a lifetime are sensitive to jokes or advertisements or other forms of current media.
This column’s advice. Focus on actions. Like voter suppression or politicians cutting social programs and pitting the poor against the middle class.
Here’s another example. Hurley Medical Center in Flint Michigan acquiesced to a neo Nazi to remove a black nurse from his newborn’s care. He didn't want her to touch his child.
The nurse in question has worked at the hospital since 1988. The man with the swastika tattoo arrived recently.
Okay, redo. When a person makes that type of demand and flashes such ink to intimidate, here’s a plan.
Agree with him and have him sit somewhere. It's even money he can't read, so hand the Nazi a magazine with lots of pictures. Close the door. And then, in no particular order call: the police, Child Protective Services, NAACP, the media, JDL and that’s for starters.
Ban the father from the hospital and don’t make any staffing changes.
Investigate the home life of said Nazi wanna be and determine if there are other children. Hell, make certain the household is free of any sentient beings, from dogs to fish.
By the way, new father idiot, you are not a Nazi unless you start a war with most of Western Europe and you construct Concentration Camps. Also, there has to be collaboration with certain businesses like Volkswagen to use prisoners as slave labor. Then there is the whole business of uniforms and all the affects of war.
Putting ink on your bicep just makes you a moron. And someone who admires monsters.
