Naya sweeps competition at 'Gatecrash' game day

On Feb. 23, 2013 Boston "Magic: The Gathering" Examiner David Leavitt took first place during "Gatecrash" game day at Stillpoint Comics and Games in Fall River, Mass. with an aggressive mid-range Naya deck.

"Naya is extremely versatile and has the tools available to handle any match," Mr. Leavitt replied after asking himself why he decided to run the deck. "Looking at recent results from the Pro Tour I knew Farseek was clearly the best card in the format," he explained while making funny faces at himself into his bathroom mirror.

Joking aside, the deck's a blast to play and doesn't require many cards from "Gatecrash." Results will vary based on your skill, luck, and metagame.

Leavitt's only match loss was against another Naya deck abusing humans piloted by Joao Costa. "It's pretty rough when you mulligan down to four and still don't have any land." He'd ultimately wind up facing Costa again in the top eight finals. "His deck was wicked fast with Champion of the Parish, Mayor of Avabruck, and Silverblade Paladin. Without a Frontline Medic though I was able to wipe his side of the battlefield clean thanks to Bonfire of the Damned. Miracle indeed."
