Naya Soulbeast is a new rare green creature from "Commander (2013 Edition)" that can become a massive threat under the right circumstances. This "Magic: The Gathering" card is featured in the "Nature of the Beast" deck, and packs a powerful punch.
Naya Soulbeast - 6GG
Creature - Beast (Rare)
When you cast Naya Soulbeast, each player reveals the top card of his or her library. Naya Soulbeast enters the battlefield with X +1/+1 counters on it, where X is the total converted mana cost of all cards revealed this way.
As with most other great commander cards that we've seen to date, Naya Soulbeast's power scales with the number of players in your game. Commander is known for its many expensive bombs and spells, and that works to Naya Soulbeast's favor. Commander decks tend to lend themselves to having a larger mana curve than other formats like Standard. Even if the average converted mana cost of every player's deck is four, then in a four player game it isn't unreasonable for it to become a 16/16 or greater (provided that nobody hits a land).
One way to ensure Naya Soulbeast always enters the battlefield as large as possible is to play with cards that allow you to see the top of your library and/or your opponent's libraries. This will help mitigate the randomness of Naya Soulbeast. Because Naya Soulbeast utilizes +1/+1 counters it works well with Simic cards and commanders like Ghave, Guru of Spores.
How will you use Naya Soulbeast?
