This past weekend Mexico saw its share of celebrity weddings. While nuptials were expected for Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo, Naya Rivera’s ceremony came as quite the surprise reported Us Weekly Wednesday.
The 27-year-old “Glee” actress wed actor Ryan Dorsey in a quiet, private ceremony attended by a small group of family in Cabo San Lucas on Saturday, July 19. According to Us Weekly Naya Rivera also posted Instagram photos with her new husband riding horseback on the same day as the wedding, which were the first hints at a new relationship after a big breakup with fiancé Big Sean only three months ago.
Big Sean, who joined Naya Rivera on her first single, “Sorry,” allegedly broke off the engagement “after careful thought and much consideration.” The hip-hop artist proposed to Naya in October, but the relationship ended in April.
People has the info on Rivera’s new love that began as friendship four years ago when Ryan Dorsey landed in Los Angeles after attending the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. Dorsey is originally from Charleston, West Virginia and has appeared in “Groovin’ On,” “Unspoken,” and “You’re the Worst.” The couple spoke exclusively to People and told the magazine, “True love always prevails.”
The beautiful photographs of Naya Rivera’s wedding to Ryan Dorsey show the actress in an open back Monique Lhuillier gown with a bouquet of daisies and baby’s breath. Dorsey wore a Dolce & Gabbana suit and the pair said, “I do” with Neil Lane rings.
Naya Rivera and Ryan Dorsey are back home in Los Angeles, but not before explaining how “blessed” they are “to be joined as husband and wife.” Although it was a short courtship, the new Hollywood spouses went on to state, “Our special day was fated and everything we could have asked for.”
