The Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division (NAWCWD) is hosting an Industry Day event on Feb. 26. The topic of the meeting is "NAWCWD and Industry Working Together to Provide Innovative Solutions to the Warfighter,” the Navy said on Tuesday.
“The defense acquisition landscape is changing - from big acquisition programs to smaller-scale, rapid integration efforts,” the Navy said on a website advertising the meeting. “NAWCWD/NAVAIR's focus will turn to adapting and integrating new and existing technologies to meet the fleet's needs, quickly and affordably.”
The meeting is advertised as a “fireside chat” with Navy Rear Admiral Michael Moran, NAWCWD commander. Moran will profile the direction of NAWCWD in terms of science, technology and innovation. “The Industry Day is small business centric; however, all businesses are invited to attend,” the Navy said.
Tentative topics to be discussed at the meeting are unmanned air systems, electronic warfare and bio-fuels. The event will be held at the NAWCWD's McLean Laboratory, China Lake, Calif.
