Phoenix job seekers are fortunate to have the headquarters of one of the largest online job search engine companies in our backyard – Jobing.com. These search engines can be a great tool to find openings in various fields. Like any other program available through the internet, knowing ways to navigate the pages can save hours, days and months of time. Consider some of these ideas to maximize your time in searching:
· Check the setting of posting dates. Regardless of what search engine you choose, they all have a drop down menu to modify the timeframe of when the jobs were posted. By default, this is usually set to ‘Last 30 days’ or ‘All jobs’.
· Be consistent on the days when you search. One way to limit the time you need to spend searching is to change the posting timeframe to ‘Last 3 days’ and then search every Sunday and Thursday or Monday and Friday. Take a break the other 3 days since you won’t miss any postings this way.
· Read the most important information first. Companies will put information about the organization, what the job does, and sometimes even a sales pitch including benefits of working there in the first part of the posting. None of this matters if you are not qualified. Scroll down to the skills and requirements for the position to see if you can post before you waste time reading the rest.
Using these tips will allow Phoenix job seekers to spend more time outside enjoying the drop below triple digit temperatures and less time behind a computer screen.
