Nautical Flea Market in Islamorada offers marine bargains this weekend

The Gigantic Nautical Flea Market, a unique boating and marine bazaar, returns Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 23-24, to Founders Park, mile marker (MM) 87 bayside on Plantation Key.

Thousands of bargain hunters of all ages and interests flock to browse and buy among more than 200 vendor booths. Secondhand and show-price deals can be found on boats, boat parts, electronics, marine products, nautical gear, dock equipment, accessories and clothing for waterborne sports and recreation.

No box of loose parts is left unturned as attendees search for an oddball fitting or deep discounts on fishing gear, rods, reels, line and lures or tools.

Art aficionados, craftsmen and hobbyists also can discover a variety of items, while sun worshippers can enjoy a day at the park.

Flea market hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Breakfast is available daily starting at 8 a.m. for an all-you-can-eat-pancakes price of $5 per person.

Parking is available at Coral Shores High School, MM 90, with free shuttle transportation to the flea market grounds.

Admission to the open-air event is free, although a $5 donation to a local scholarship fund is suggested. Money raised benefits the Upper Keys Rotary Foundation Scholarship fund.
