The "love ‘em and leave ‘em" revolving door love life of “celebutante” Paris Hilton is such a titillating tale of sex, booze, and rock n’ roll that interest in her peccadilloes crescendos whenever the indiscreet socialite cuts loose and moves on. Never more so than when her sordid actions scream common slut, once again the blond bombshell is commanding attention.
Difficult as it may be to understand the attraction, one would be hard pressed to deny that news about Hilton continues to fascinate. Everywhere you look there’s another scintillating update. She wheedles a ring out of Benji Madden, but a baby would be better. Before him came scads more and at least one broken engagement. She’s on the red carpet with Doug Reinhardt, pressing ever so suggestively against his muscled physique. She’s out bumping and grinding with a Real Madrid, but will latest conquest Cristiano Ronaldo become more than a passing fancy?
How about who gives a flying fig?
Who is this woman anyway? A sexy party girl cashing in on her wealthy pedigree to launch another line of crap we don’t need? Bet those lines do well during the economic downturn.
Does Hilton have any discernible talent, I mean, other than making men’s pants feel tighter? Oh right, she’s a reality celebrity. Well, in case you haven’t noticed, these days so are two thirds of the planet. Even Speidi complains about the dearth of actual celebrities on NBC debacle “I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here.”
Plenty of beautiful sexy women populate the planet. Where are the countless pointless features about their love lives? Wouldn’t the world be a kinder, gentler place with more news about them?
Hilton is a woman so ridiculously banal, vegetable expiration dates last longer than her relationships. In 2004, a homemade sex tape of her and then boyfriend Rick Salomon became an instant media sensation. Three years later, paternal grandfather Barron Hilton famously cut off her and her swinging siblings from the family fortune. She’s served time in jail and still hasn’t fulfilled her Larry King vows to become a charitable ambassador. Instead, she’s out partying or playing red carpet perennial, a different man candy on her arm like interchangeable purses or dog accessories.

I know, I know. If I’m so fed up with Hilton, why waste more broadband on her?
For the same simple reason many motorists slow down to rubberneck a car accident. Sometimes, the wreckage is too spectacular to look away.

The fetching Miss Hilton is indeed primo eye candy. But so are many other beautiful women - talented actresses - and you don't see tons of stories about them. My beef is not with Paris but with the people who obsess over her. There must be better things we can do with our time. For instance, sparring with Fitsum. Now there's something I could sink my teeth into.
I don't like what she did to Benji. We knew he was way too good for her. We were right.
