Nature walk after the 2011 Blizzard

Living a green life style means enjoying nature in all its many forms. This can be difficult in Chicago, where the dark, cold, windy days can challenge even the most die-hard Chicagoan to question why they live here.

It can take an extreme weather phenomoenon, like the 2011 Blizzard,  to mix up the monotony and make winter in Chicago seem fun, exciting, and potentially life threatening. On Febrary 1st and 2nd 2011 high winds, snowfall and cold temperatures shut down the city. When the winds settled, this examiner took a nature walk along the lake front near Navy Pier to see Chicago in its state of hibernation.
