Visitors to the 2009 Chicago Green Festival had a chance to meet Erin Yanz and find out about Nature's Creatures Animal Show, a great interactive, educational animal show that people, families, schools, and businesses around Chicagoland can hire for special events to entertain guests while also teaching them about animals, nature, and the importance of proper pet care.
About Nature's Creatures Animal Shows
Erin, the owner of Nature's Creatures Animal Shows, has put to use her extensive background in working with animals to run this service to teach kids about animals and to spread awareness about the most responsible way to take care of animals and be a pet owner. She provides people with pet care sheets so they understand issues like why pet owners should avoid keeping captured wild animals and how best to organize their homes to make them ready for different kinds of pets.
Best of all, many of the animals featured in Erin's shows are creatures that have been donated, rescued from bad homes, or cared for by Erin after being mistreated or injured. She both finds a positive purpose for these animals and uses them to teach everyone about the proper way to live responsibly with animals. Chicago families and schools can lease, adopt, and donate animals through Erin's company.
Nature's Creatures animals
What kind of animals will kids get to meet as part of a Nature's Creatures event? Regular pets, like bunnies, ferrets, and chinchillas; birds, ranging from roosters and chickens to peacocks and parrots; amphibians, like frogs, toads, salamanders, and newts; reptiles, including different kinds of snakes lizards, alligators, and turtles; and even "creepy creatures" (to help kids overcome their fears about these sometimes scary-looking animals) like tarantulas, millipedes, and scorpions.
Nature's Creatures Animal Show events
At slumber and birthday parties, Erin can entertain children with fun animal facts while kids get to hold and gently touch the animals. At schools, summer camps, and girl scout meetings, Erin can teach and lecture about animals (and their diets, habitats, features, etc.) with live creatures on-hand for interactive demonstrations.
