Nature Rocks - right here in San Diego

San Diego is one of several cities participating in the Nature Rocks event this coming weekend. In partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Sweetwater Marsh and The Chula Vista Nature Center invite families out this Saturday to check out their special activity stations which include bird bingo, plankton netting, identifying tracks on the trail along with a photo contest.

The first 75 families to arrive will receive copies of Richard Louv's best-selling book, "Last Child in the Woods: Saving our Children from Nature-Deficit Disorder." Louv is the co-founder of Children & Nature Network and will be on hand this Saturday to meet the families and sign copies of his book.

Nature Rocks takes place on Saturday, September 25th, from 10am - 2pm at Sweetwater Marsh, located at 1000 Gunpowder Point Drive in Chula Vista. The 316-acre facility is home to many animals and plants. The Chula Vista Nature Center can be found within and provides guests the opportunity to view native birds in outdoor aviaries.

Other participating locations across the country include:
