Plants, flowers, nests and other elements from the natural world inspired artists John Bonath and Jean Smith, whose contemporary art works are on exhibit at the Ice Cube Gallery in Denver through March 1. The installation titled "Vortex Chamber" includes large-scale photographs and ceramics pieces--many of which draw inspiration from the plant kingdom.

The Ice Cube Gallery is located at 3320 Walnut Street in Denver, in a former dry ice factory. The handsome brick building was refurbished to include the contemporary art gallery along with artists' studios. Weekend hours are Friday 12-9 p.m. and Saturday 12-5 p.m.

If you can't make it to the exhibition, pay a virtual visit by viewing the slide show here.

And before or after visiting the gallery, grab a bite and check out the nearby Walnut Room's vegetarian pizza with goodies from the garden: it's different and delicious!
