Today it was confirmed, that yet another of many pet food products being voluntarily recalled by their manufacturers for possible Salmonella contamination - this time it is Natural Pet Products, makers of four brands of popular dry dog food - EVO, Innova, California Natural, and HealthWise.
Since the company has not yet issued a formal statement today, other than their intent to recall these products in the interest of consumer safety, please be advised that you should hold on to the remainder of any these products that you have purchased and await further information from the company on how refunds may be handled.
Remember to stop feeding it to your pets and to wash your hands thoroughly with warm water and soap after handling any foods suspected of being contaminated. Salmonella can affect both humans and pets, and it is most often spread as an infection through handling.
