Natural Health is not a new practice or concept, rather one that has been in existance since the beginning of humankind.  From herbal remedies and recipes to accupuncture, many cultures have relied, and still do, on the healing properties found in nature and in our bodies.

Many Plants are used in their natural form to relieve pain and to treat illness.  Some of these same plants are used to produce the medications found in mainstream medical treatments. Natural health and mainstream medicine do not have to be at odds, but can, and do, complement the actions and powers of the other.  However, when combining the two practices it is very important to make any practioner aware of any and all uses of medications, treatment, and supplements being used.  Just because something is herbal, organic or natural, doesn't mean it is powerless.  In fact, many natural remedies are very powerful.

Getting information on any active natural health practice is important and easier than in the recent past.  Natural health practioners and stores are closer than ever before and have a wealth of information to guide us.  Organic produce, homeopathic blends, vitamin and mineral supplements and books on any number of health topics are all available for our use and education.  In the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area one resource to consider is The Healthy Grocer, providing many useful items and loads of information.  To learn more, go to:  www.thehealthygrocer.com .  In the York, Pennsylvania area Sonnewald's Natural Foods is another excellent resource for natural foods, supplements, and free literature.  For this site go to:  www.sonnewald.org .

Tip for our time:  Drinking plenty of water is very important, but not everybody enjoys doing it.  Let's make it refreshing by getting a glass pitcher or jar and placing slices of organic cucumber and organic fresh mint, adding water and placing it the refridgerator over night.  The next day the mixture will produce a mild and pleasant way to get the hydration our bodies need.

Good health and lots of laughter.
