We all know about the benefits of aloe vera as a natural burn relief. Did you know there are other natural burn relief products that can be made at home? My family usually uses aloe vera but some of these other natural burn relief remedies work just as well. Here's an overview of natural products for burn relief and healing.

Aloe vera

Let's go ahead and talk about aloe vera gel for those who don't know. Aloe vera is a commonly available natural plant. The aloe vera plant isn't fussy to grow. For small burns, just break off a leaf, squeeze out the natural gel and apply to the burn. This natural burn relief gel needs nothing else to ease the pain and speed healing of the burn.

A very soothing natural burn relief spray can be made from aloe vera and a few other ingredients. This feels very nice when applied to a sunburn. It brings instant relief. This burn product can be made directly in a small spray bottle. For larger batches, simply increase ingredients proportionately.

You will need:

  • A small plastic spray bottle

  • 1 oz. of ice water

  • 1 oz. of aloe vera gel

  • 25 drops of lavender essential oil

  • One Vitamin E capsule.

Mix all the ingredients and shake well. (The Vitamin E capsule will have to be opened or pierced and emptied.)

I use it every summer on whatever unlucky family member has over-sunned. A burn is no match for the natural healing power of tea. Green tea works especially well as a natural burn relief, but regular tea is good too. Just make up a batch of sun tea and refrigerate. Put in a spray bottle and use as needed for pain relief on regular burns and sunburns alike.

Burn healer and moisturizer

A small burn can become a big problem if not treated properly. This natural formula soothes a burn and has antiseptic properties as well. A burn involves some open skin so it's easily infected. Use this natural burn relief to prevent a small burn from worsening. Just mix ¼ cup of all natural virgin olive oil with a few drops of tea tree oil. Refrigerate in a covered container and use daily for burn relief.

Soothing oil

Vitamin E on it's own has been used for a natural burn relief oil for many years. Mixing it with lavender essential oil is twice as soothing. This natural burn relief rub is simple to make and useful for small burns. It can also be mixed with water and sprayed on. Simply pierce several natural Vitamin E capsules and squeeze out the Vitamin E oil. Mix with a few drops of lavender essential oil in a small dish and apply to the burn for instant relief. To use as a natural burn relief spray add ¼ cup ice water, shake and spray.
