Native Nations ‘Inaugural Ball’ 2013 NMAI at Washington D.C.

Native American actor - Chaske Spencer will be the master of ceremonies at the Native Nations ‘Inaugural Ball’ on Monday Jan. 21, 2013 at 7 p.m. It will be held at the National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) on the ‘National Mall’ in Washington, D.C. An Email invitation was sent out from Kevin Grover that stated - “The board of trustees and the director of the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian invite you to the - Native Nations - Inaugural Ball.” - The deadline for purchasing tickets ended on Jan. 10. - The deadline to RSVP the invitation was Jan. 16. It is all part of the Inauguration of the President of the United States Barak Obama 2013.

The ‘Inaugural Viewing’ reception will be 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. All guests are encouraged to wear ‘Casual Attire.’ The reception will feature light refreshments / Access to the museum's ‘Potomac Atrium’ / Indoor live broadcasting of the inauguration.

The ‘Inaugural Ball' will be 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. All guests are encouraged to wear ‘Black Tie or Traditional Dress.’ There will be a buffet dinner - After hours access to the Museum exhibitions / Live Entertainment / Dancing. The native entertainment will feature these artists - 1491s - Gabriel - Ayala - Gerry Barrett - The Grascals - Murray Porter Band - Martha Redbone - Crystal Shawanda - DJ Kiss Zuni.

According to the official website of NMAI the sponsorship of this gala is explained as - “The funds raised from the National Museum of the American Indian’s ‘Inaugural Ball’ will allow the museum to produce additional programs - help us correct misperceptions about Native history - and affirm the relevance and impact of Native Americans past and present. With your support - the Museum can become the national platform for the discussion of topics relevant to Tribal Nations - both in the Museums in Washington, D.C. - and New York - and in communities across the country.”
