“Project Runway” airs on the ‘Lifetime’ cable TV network each Thursday night at 9/8 p.m. (check your local listings). Super model Heidi Klume & fashion guru Tim Gunn serve as hosts of the show. The 11th season brought 16 designers to New York to work as teams. They are called - ‘The Dream Team’ & ‘Keeping it Real.’ Native American designer Patricia Michaels is on the ‘Real’ team. Both groups are judged each week on collaboration & individual style. ‘The Dream Team’ has lost each competition in the last two weeks & ‘2’ of their designers have been sent home. ‘Keeping it Real’ has won with good & creative fashion designs for the judges. The third episode aired last night on Thursday Feb. 7, 2013.
According to the official website of "Project Runway" the third episode synopsis is right here - “The designers have their toughest client yet when they must create garments for the ever-opinionated Heidi Klum for the launch of her new fragrance - ‘Surprise.’ Heidi will wear the winning garments in her national commercial and a second winning garment for a press event. Actress Kristin Davis (Sex & the City) serves as the guest judge.”
Several men on the ‘Keeping it Real’ team criticized the weak designers & one of them was Patricia Michaels. In the end - None of those men made acceptable fashion designs. Two of them were criticized by Heidi herself because their garments were unacceptable. They were saved by their own team with whom they were criticizing. Patricia earned one of the top ‘3’ spots last night with her original idea for Heidi’s public relations campaign dress.
Patricia told the TV viewers that she was worried over her creation because she was too meticulous. Tim Gunn made everyone laugh by telling Patricia to explain her ideas in 100 words or less. Her team loves her because she talks way too much in a cute & funny way. Tim called her design very ambitious as she herself said she is trying to be different. Her design was made of pink leather squares over a sheer light garment & full skirt.
‘The Dream Team’ again was the losing group for the third week in a row after last night. The bottom ‘3’ dresses were voted by the judges as the worst. Their garments were called - “not sexy”, “too much skin”, “cheap”, “trashy, “where is the whip?” (One designer created a bondage outfit). The judges go on to say that one dress was “boobs too mushy”, “crushed”, “worst construction” & “ship wrecked.” Cindy was sent home from the show.
The ‘Keeping it Real’ team created two dresses that Heidi will wear for her ad campaign. One was from Kate & the other was from Daniel. Kate was served with immunity & will not be voted off the show next week. The judges loved all ‘3’ dress designs. They all spoke good words about Patricia Michaels by saying that they - “liked it”, “interesting”, “haven’t seen this before”, “Patricia has her own signature”, “nice departure”, “laid it out with technique” & Heidi liked ‘Boxy’ look.
Patricia Michaels has made it to the 4th round of "Project Runway" with a new challenge, new judges & more fashion designs.
