Native American events Feb. 5-Feb. 12 in northern Michigan include storytelling by Niigonakwat (Elder Tom Peters) and two Anishinaabemowin (Odawa/Ojibwe/Potawatomi) language classes.

Traditional stories based on the cultural hero Nanaboozhoo, the historical Anishinaabe trickster and teacher. Followed by a discussion and question session. Beverages provided. By donation.

Anishinaabemowin Language Classes
Culture and language are equally important to pass-on to future generations. In keeping with this tradition, the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians offers language classes. Guest instructor Isadore Toulouse from Toronto, CA leads both sessions. Admission is free.
