Native actor, Roscoe Pond voted 'Yes' 2014 SAG-AFTRA TV & theatrical contracts

The “Screen Actors Guild” (SAG) & “The American Federation of Television and Radio Artists” (AFTRA) sent out a public email to all paid up SAG-AFTRA members. This includes Native Americans. Ken Howard / President & national chair of the TV/theatrical negotiating committee. David White / national executive director & chief negotiator are urging union members to vote.

As a Native American background extra living in the state of New Mexico. Roscoe Pond has voted “yes” to the agreement, who will later see an increase in payment as a Stand-in and/or Extra. That will come over the course of several TV or movie productions that film in New Mexico.

Ken Howard & David White say, “Now is the time to vote for your future. The union has reached a tentative agreement on our contracts covering motion pictures, scripted prime-time dramatic television and new media production, and now it is time to vote.”

We have realized some significant gains, unifying the legacy SAG and AFTRA contracts into a single agreement and ensuring wage increases of 8.5 percent, compounding to 8.7 percent over the three-year term, in addition to increased contributions to the pension, health and retirement plans.”
