Nationally known pianist performs benefit concert for The Barn Players

Kansas City native and nationally acclaimed pianist, Eric Bikales, returns to Kansas City to present a benefit concert, March 12 to honor his sister ‘s birthday, at The Barn Players Playhouse in a 45 minute set, a Barn spokesman said March 4.

Bikales, a graduate of Shawnee Mission East High School, returns to honor his sister, Vida, president of The Barn Players and her friend kerry Kirk for what is termed, “Vida and Kerry’s 60th Birthday Benefit for The Barn Players,” at The Barn Players’ Playhouse in Mission, Kan.

Bikales, the spokesman said, will present two 45-minute concert sections featuring his music as well as piano favorites. Doors will open at 7 p.m. with the concert beginning at 7:30. All procee ds will go to the Barn Players. Birthday cake and wine will be served.

After high school, Eric attended the University of Kansas. His career spans more than 40 years, and he has accompanied and written music for many famous music performers, TV and stage shows and recently released a CD “Follow Your Heart.” That CD includes many of his own piano compositions as well as other music.

He is one of the most respected and sought after pianists in the country .. not only does he accompany other artists, present personal concerts and write music, but he also teaches college music classes through the University of San Francisco. For additional information go to
