The National Weather Service is reporting dangerous radiation levels of 7 and above, even 11, for Los Angeles today and for the next few days. It’s time to practice safe sun especially if you’re heading to the beach, pool, hiking trails, going on bike rides or just going to be outdoors during the heat of the day.
To truly shield yourself from the harmful rays of the sun, wear a hat (preferably one that has an SPF protection) and slathered your body with sunscreens. If, oops, you're out of product, head over to your closest CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens or ULTA and stock up now.
Some of this Beauty Examiner’s favorite sunscreens include Vichy Capital Soleil SPF 30 Luxurious Protective Oil ($28.50), a luscious light liquid with a subtle, feminine fragrance that sprays effortlessly on the skin to provide just the right amount of protection and radiance. The oil absorbs quickly for a non-greasy, beautiful sheen so skin is left gorgeous and glowing, safe from sun exposure on and even off the beach.
I also adore Australian Gold Sheer Coverage Continuous Spray ($10.49). It smells so good and keeps your skin moist and safeguarded. It’s also water resistant for up to 80 minutes. Also in my bag of sun shunning tricks is OBAGI who makes super protecting Nu-Derm SunShield SPF 50 ($46) which contains 10.5% zinc oxide and 7.5% octinoxate providing extensive sun protection to prevent the aging effects of UVA and UVB rays.
