November is National Vegan month, and according to Global Animal on Nov 3, 2013, they gave 100 ways one could celebrate. On November 1, 1944, the National Vegan society was formed by Donald Watson. He coined the term, vegan at that time. He used the word vegan to describe any vegetarian that did not eat or drink any dairy.
There are many ways one could celebrate National Vegan Month. One way would be to buy a few vegan cookbooks and try new recipes. Everyone, vegan or otherwise, will eat the same food items, week after week. It is great for you to try new recipes.
Instead of drink dairy, try almond milk. Most people who try almond milk love it. It has a nutty, but delicious flavor. If you want more of creamy type milk, coconut milk is extremely cream. It tastes good in coffee or as milk for cereal.
Cheese is a very hard food item to remove from your diet. Many people hold on to not being a vegan, out of fear of giving up cheese. Cheese has many alternatives and cheese like products. Try a few of them, when you find one you like, stop buying dairy cheese.
Gradually throughout the month remove dairy and meats out of your diet. If you start slow by the end of the month, you could be a vegan. Make it a goal, by Nov. 30; you will be 100% vegan.
