"Trainiacs" will be in good company May 9th at LA's Union Station. National Train Day which will be celebrated at several cities around the country will feature exhibits, demonstrations and of course several kinds of trains, cars and engines. Rail transportation is growing in importance as more miles of rail are being installed and planned. The Obama administration has promised $13billion in new funding to improve our long neglected rail system and help usher in real high speed rail.

Visitors will be able to learn about current and future plans for rail in LA including the new Expo Line which will reach to Santa Monica, the Harbor subdivision which will carry riders from downtown to LAX and south to LA Harbor.
