Two time Primetime Emmy award nominated Adam Shankman will serve as Producer, Director, and Choreographer on the upcoming feature film version of the Broadway production of "Rock of Ages". The film's casting directors are conduction a nation talent search (including Canada) for the lead role of Drew Boley. Both unrepresented talent, and talent signed with agents can submit to be considered.
The character of Drew Foley is a young, handsome rocker. He has great comedic timing, a rocker tough exterior edge, boyish quality, charm, vulnerability, is a potential huge rock star. Drew desperately wants to be a rocker, but works as a bar back at the famous “Rock of Ages” club on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood until his dreams, however unrealistic, come true.
The actor can be any ethnicity, but MUST be able to play an early 20's aged singer and guitarist with a rocker voice. They are not looking for a contemporary musical theatre pop voice, but a pure, gritty rock sound. Should also should be a good mover on stage.
Details on how talent in the United States and Canada can be considered is posted on the following auditions website:
