National School Choice Week brings public awareness to school choice. The events hosted during the week allow millions of Americans to learn more about the benefits of school choice.
The Governor of Nevada has proclaimed Jan 27-Feb 2, 1013 as School Choice Week in Nevada. Read his proclamation here.
In Las Vegas, School Choice will be recognized at RISE Educational Resource Center all throughout the week. RISE is the only facility in the Las Vegas valley with meeting space and classroom space designated for students pursuing nontraditional education. They provide educational and social events for the more than 6,000 homeschooled students and 10,000 charter-schooled students in the valley.
And on Tuesday, January 29 the dogs will be there to help promote the variety of options families have for schooling their children. Reading with the Love Dogs is held at RISE every week and almost one hundred invited guests and dignitaries will get to see what happens when you bring together children, dogs and very special volunteers at the other end of the leash.
