In honor of “September is National Recovery Month” the California Association of Addiction and Recovery Resources (CAARR) will be presenting “Recovery Happens” an annual Kick-Off Rally on September 4, 2013 on the West Steps of the State Capitol. Recovery Happens is a statewide campaign which celebrates individuals who are recovering from alcohol and/or drug addiction. This rally provides the opportunity for the community to see that recovery is possible and it is HAPPENING!

September is National Recovery Month is an annual celebration which spreads positive information of the importance of substance abuse treatment, prevention and recovery for substance abuse and mental disorders. It also provides a platform to educate the community of the direct link between behavioral and mental health and how essential it is to overall health. It gives the community at large the ability to witness the positive change that recovery brings to communities and how crucial substance abuse and mental health programs are to the overall population.
