January 29th is ‘National Puzzle Day.’ Most people would normally think of this day for jigsaw puzzles that you may spend hours putting together only to take it apart again to put in the box an hour or a day later. But hold on now, just a minute! Yes, these puzzles are included, but there are lots of different varieties of puzzles out there that people can do. There are enough to spend the whole day on!
A newer kind of puzzle is called Sodoku and has become increasingly popular in the last couple years. Other types of puzzles can be done with a pen/pencil and paper, such as crossword puzzles. Even mazes can be a type of puzzle. I like the mind games that try to trick people. Any kind of thing that makes people think about what to do next or where to put something or how to solve a problem can be a puzzle.
Any type of puzzle has different difficulty levels ranging from easy for beginners to very tough for advanced users. Many people like the challenge of doing a puzzle and they strive to conquer the ones they start. By doing puzzles, people are able to keep their minds strong and to learn new things. Some may do puzzles just for fun to pass the time, especially if one is bored. I know that I have put together a large puzzle before, pasted it together, framed it, and put it on the wall for my child’s room. There are many reasons why people enjoy doing puzzles.
It is always smart to have some kind of puzzle sitting around the house. If you don’t, then turn to the internet because there are thousands of different sites and puzzles that can be done. Have some fun, relax, keep that brain sharp, and enjoy the numerous puzzles that have been created.
