The National Parks Overflights Advisory Group Aviation Rulemaking Committee has scheduled its next conference call for Thursday, Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to noon Pacific Time. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Park Service are announcing the meeting in the Federal Register of Monday, Aug. 26. Th committee provides advice on noise, safety, environmental issues, rules and other matters concerning aircraft over national parks. It was created by the National Parks Air Tour Management Act of 2000.
The committee will discuss the new air tour reporting requirements and current voluntary agreement efforts. It will also review the minutes from its May 16, 2012 meeting in Rapid City, SD. Other matters may also come up.
