National No Housework Day: 'No guilt no stress and no dusting'

'No guilt, no stress and no dusting!'

Monday, April 7 is National No Housework Day, “the one day of the year you can just relax, forget those daily chores and do absolutely anything else instead," according to Days of the Year calendar.

A study conducted at the University of Michigan in 2008, found that the “average married American women does 17 hours of housework per week!” After a long day at work, school, or taking care of the kids, the last thing you want to think about is doing housework.

Health experts and doctors both agree that factoring in time to relax is essential for people with busy lives; it also helps to reduce headaches, lower your heart rate and blood pressure, and improve concentration.

Below is your personal “doctor’s prescription,” and check list for the day, feel free to add to it, and don’t forget to cross off each chore that you don’t do!

No making beds
No vacuuming
No cooking
No laundry
No washing dirty dishes

The mantra for this day is “no guilt, no stress and no dusting”, so sit back, relax, and enjoy your day!
