After a long week at work, nothing sounds better than sippin’ on a fine glass of wine, right? It’s finally time to chill out and relax. Get ready to raise your glass, America! According to an All She Cooks article published on May 8, a delightful holiday is hours away and Americans are in the mood to celebrate! May 9, 2014, is National Moscato Day!
This "spirited" holiday celebrates the delightfully intoxicating wine, Moscato. Years ago, Earnest and Julio Gallo had a dream to have their own winery. So they borrowed $5,000 from a family member and read everything they could get their hands on about how to make wine, and the rest, as they say, is history. The Gallo Family Vineyards (GFV) have been a family-owned business in operation for more than 80 years. They created National Moscato Day in 2012 and folks have been celebrating the occasion ever since!
Available in a wide variety of price points, Moscato is a popular wine in America and around the world. The light-bodied, aromatic wine goes perfectly with a variety of tasty desserts, fruit , salads and of course, by the glass. Available in a variety of flavors including red, white and pink, Moscato should be nicely chilled before serving.

And be sure to raise your glass during the virtual live toast at 7:00 p.m. ET. Use hashtag #MoscatoDay and @GalloFamily when posting.
So go ahead – pop the cork and take a nice long sip with your co-workers, significant other or BFFs. Happy National Moscato Day! And be sure to check out these amazing Moscato recipes. And as always, please drink responsibly.
