The Rescue Rally of the Rockies is happening this Saturday, June 14, 2014, at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds. For mapping purposes, the address is 25690 East Quincy Ave., Aurora, Colorado 80016. The rally runs from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and features over twenty dog rescues. National Mill Dog Rescue is one of the rescues attending, and founder Theresa Strader is a featured speaker.
Since its start in February 2007, after Theresa rescued an Italian Greyhound named Lily, National Mill Dog Rescue has saved over 9,000 dogs from puppy mills. NMDR is thrilled to be part of the Rescue Rally of the Rockies.
The Rescue Rally is sponsored by Denver Dachshunds Rescue and Transport. It will be a wonderful day of family fun, dachshund races, fly ball, a dog house auction, and many other games and contests. There will also be educational speakers and animal behaviorists. Denver Dachshunds Rescue and Transport is holding this great event to heighten awareness of dog rescues, puppy mills, and pet care, as well as to showcase adoptable dogs of all sizes and ages. Come out and meet some adoptable dogs and "ambassadors" (adopted NMDR dogs) and have a great time!
