National Margarita Day specials in Elk Grove and Sacramento

The margarita is a drink most popularly made with tequila, Cointreau or Triple Sec, and lime juice. Around since the 30s or 40s, with many stories about who created the drink, no one is really sure where the margarita came from. Regardless, the tasty beverage served on the rocks or frozen and its many variations are served in bars and restaurants all over the nation. It even has its own day, for today is National Margarita Day.

In celebration of the drink, restaurants around the country will be serving up margarita specials. If you live in Elk Grove or Sacramento, here are some options for you to get your margarita on at.

Chili’s on Laguna Blvd in Elk Grove is not hosting any specials but they always have margaritas for happy hour from 3-7 p.m. at $4.50 for top shelf and $5.99 for premium. On The Border is another great option for those of you in Elk Grove wishing to celebrate the holiday. They will be serving up margaritas beginning at 3 p.m. at $2 off the regular price.

Chevy's on Laguna Blvd will be celebrating the holiday by offering their top shelf Cadillac margaritas at $5.99 instead of $7.99. The margarita comes with a Grand Mariner shot on the side for margarita lovers that like a floater. They will also be hosting their normal happy hour prices of $3.99 for house margaritas.

If you are closer to Sacramento there are several great options as well. El Torito on Arden Way is serving margaritas for $4 and when you buy one you get an extra shot for $2.

Zocalo’s on Capitol Ave. was voted by CBS Sacramento to have some of the best margaritas in town, and will be selling their margaritas for the happy hour price all day long. Their house margaritas are $5, they have blackberry margaritas for $6 and their premium margaritas will be $7.Also on CBS Sacramento’s list was Centro Cocina Mexicana on J St. They will be having margarita specials from 3-6 p.m. All margaritas are $5.
