National Lemonade Day is August 20, 2013, and to celebrate this 13th century beverage let’s make our own fresh lemonade drink. This Mediterranean refreshment made its way to Europe and eventually America and is a popular summer drink. The beverage was sold as an everyday drink, and as a tonic to treat colds and other ailments. In France, a glass of lemonade purchased from street vendors was called “lemoadiers.”
