Today is National Lemonade Day! What better way can you think of to cool off on a hot August afternoon than by drinking a cool refreshing glass of freshly squeezed lemonade? Well, if you are out and about this afternoon, be sure to stop by your local 7-Eleven store because today is your chance to score a free lemonade - and nothing beats free!
7-Eleven Inc. is celebrating National Lemonade Day by offering a free 16-ounce bottle of Snapple Lemon Daze, but you have to download the 7-Eleven coupon on your smart phone to get in on the action.
According to csnews.com on Aug 19, customers can download the coupon using 7-Eleven's mobile app, available for iOS and Android smartphones, and redeem it at participating 7-Eleven stores while supplies last.
"Summer isn't over yet, and we still have a few more #Awesummer deals to squeeze out before the Labor Day holiday," said Laura Gordon, vice president of marketing and brand innovation for Dallas-based 7-Eleven. "We urge everyone to check their 7-Eleven app early and often so you don't miss even one. Snapple's Lemon Daze lemonade is a refreshing way to get through these last dog days of summer."
So where did lemonade come from anyway? According to punchbowl.com, lemonade originated in the Mediterranean region in the 13th century and the recipe eventually made its way to Europe and then to America. The beverage was sold as an everyday refreshment and as a tonic, used to treat colds and other ailments.
No matter what your favorite flavor of lemonade is, be sure to get a cold glass of it today and celebrate it's origin!
