As we all know most of the months on our calendar have themes. As I get older I realize these themes usually only matter to a handful of people. I used to be a part of the bigger population of people who didn’t care until recently. National Hobby Month caught my eye because I thought wow people still have hobbies. Hobbies are considered extra things you do in your spare time right? But everyone I know and read about have no extra time so how can it still be National Hobby month? Well because of those handfuls of people that have the time or make the time. I have become one of those people. I have been making time for my hobbies and making time for my family member’s hobbies as well. What does that mean? It means that in an effort to encourage creativity and sanity in a sense I have begun to indulge a bit more in my chosen hobbies. I’m not going to share what my hobbies are at the moment but I will share what they have been in the past. I will also provide a list of fun hobbies you could try out in your “spare” time as well. Here we go:
Hobbies I have taken part in:
• Roller skating
• Singing in the choir
• T-Shirt Designs
• Gardening
• Watching National Geographic Channel
Hobbies you should take up:
• Coloring
• Painting
• Writing down all of your Ideas
• Blogging
• Writing a Journal
• Video Games
• Puzzles
• Listening to Audio books
These are just to name a few. So during this the National Hobby month try something new. I know I am. Ok I will share this month my new hobby is couponing. Not extreme but more trying to cut my grocery bill in half. Who knows this hobby may lead to my family saving thousands and then next January I can try something new.
