National health center week goes blue

Community heath centers play an important role in providing primary and specialty care to millions throughout the nation. National Health Center Week highlights the role of community health centers a providing to the community health care and a other services for over 20 million uninsured and medically underserved nationwide.

In 2010, UHP serviced 43,000 patients through 223,000 visits at all four clinic sites, it includeds five school-based clinics, and four off-site since 1974. Community Health Centers provide access to preventive services and effective management of chronic conditions and, as a result, reduce the use of costly emergency room visits and hospital (re)admissions. According to Heathcare.gov Nearly 40% of health center patients have no health insurance. One third of health center patients are children.
