It's National Grouch Day according to Sesame Street Magazine! Grouches rejoice (or hide under your beds) because today is a day just for you. On Oct. 15, FOX 8 reported that moody, grumpy people can come together today to celebrate just how terrible life is. While you might think that it's just a funny joke, grumpy people all of the world aren't laughing.
Today celebrates all of those people who are notoriously in bad moods for no reason. Pessimistic people are especially honored on Oct. 15 each year -- because everyone deserves a day to be respected for who they are... even if it's a Grouch.
National Grouch Day has been around for many years but it's getting a lot of attention this year in particular. Why? Evidently there are a lot of grumpy people out there who are reading about their "special" day -- and plenty of them probably think it's dumb and don't want to hear another thing about it... because that's how grumpy people tend to be.
"A Grouch’s mission in life is to be as miserable and grouchy as possible, and pass that feeling on to everyone else. Only then will a Grouch feel in touch with his or her world and be happy. Yet, even though a Grouch may show happiness at anyone’s misfortune (including his or her own), a Grouch would never admit to being happy. Such is the stability of a Grouch’s life: so balanced, and yet so unbalanced," Muppet Wiki explains.
So, happy National Grouch Day! Or not.
