Today is National Drink Wine Day! According to a report National Drink Wine Day is celebrated every year on Feb. 18. It is your day to shine wine lovers as tonight you can rejoice with your favorite glass of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon or any other type of red or white wine on the market.

Wine has a long an interesting history that dates back thousands of years.

With many reports indicating that the first traces of wine began in Mesopotamia, Israel, and Egypt, wine precedes Biblical times as reported throughout history by the Greek and Roman civilizations with reports dating back as far as 6000 B.C.

Fast forward to modern day, and wine-making has grown into a global industry with literally thousands of different wines being produced in hundreds of countries on a daily basis. One of the best thing about wine, it is one of the few alcohols on the market that has been proven to be good for your health.

Wine, like grape juice, contains the antioxidant resveratrol, which has been proven to be good for your heart and blood.

However, it's only good for you if you drink a glass or two. Unfortunately just because the antioxidant resveratrol is good for your health doesn't mean you should drink the whole bottle.

Studies have shown that drinking a glass or two of wine a day can not only improve your heart health, it can boosts immunity, and increase your bone density. It also can make you dance just as good as the pro's on "Dancing with the Stars."

Okay, maybe not, but it is beneficial for your health in many ways. Either way, grab your favorite bottle of veno tonight and toast to something great in your life!
