The American Pit Bull Foundation is looking for the next “ambassadog” to serve as the 2012 APBF Mascot.

In an effort to showcase responsible breed owners and their good breed ambassadors, APBF has opened the door for voters to pick who they think should be the face of APBF in the coming year.

The winner of the contest will get the cover spot on the 2013 APBF calendar, a photo shoot for their upcoming rescue book, merchandise with the winner featured, and the new mascot will be pictured on educational materials for APBF programs; all of that…and the bragging rights to being the most popular Pit Bull.

Owners with Canine Good Citizen certified dogs, therapy dogs, Search and Rescue dogs, and just overall well behaved family dogs are all encouraged to partake in the contest.

The polls are currently open and votes are being tallied daily. Voters are allowed to make a selection once a day, now, through December 31st. The winner will be announced on the front page of the APBF website on New Year’s Day.

Entrants are asked for a $10 donation, a brief story as to why their Bully would make a great APBF mascot and three photos to post on the web for voting.
