The United State Senate has once again designated the second Friday of July as National Collector Car Appreciation Day across the country. This means that for the second year in a row, classic cars, hot rods, muscle cars and antiques and more will get together and show their vehicles in celebration of this special day for the hobby and industry all across the United States. In Dallas, Texas there will be a special event to do just that!
The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) and it's associated groups, the Automotive Restoration Market Organization (ARMO) and the Hot Rod Industry Alliance (HRIA) worked with the Congressional Automotive Performance and Motorsports Caucus to pass through the United States Senate Resolution 154 that established July 8, 2011 at National Collector Car Appreciation Day. This follows last year's effort that resulted in the first ever nationally recognized celebration of cars that brings awareness for the automotive hobby. This event is moving towards becoming an annual event that will recognize the vital role that automotive restoration and collector cars play in the American society each July.
In Dallas, for the second consecutive year the Dallas Area Classic Chevys will recognize this special day with a 'CRUISE IN' at one of North Texas' most nostalgic venues, Keller's Drive In. Friday July 8th the Chevy club will bring their '55-'57 Chevys to Keller's and they have invited ALL collector and classic car owners to join them Friday July 8th from 7-10 PM to 'have a burger and celebrate old cars'!
