National Collector Car Appreciation Day, set as July 8 by a US Senate resolution, has been adopted by San Jose-based eBay Motors, where the local company today announced its plans to celebrate the second annual event.
"eBay Motors is the largest marketplace for collector cars, and we're thrilled and proud to celebrate National Collector Car Appreciation Day with our customers," said Mitchell Gross, Senior Advertising Manager for eBay Motors. " On July 8, we have two extremely exciting events to honor the day - the auction of a 1939 GM Futurliner allowing us to showcase the triumphant legacy of pioneering auto designer Harley Earl. And, we will be webcasting a panel discussion from the Petersen Automotive Museum that will air exclusively on eBay Motors."
National Collector Car Appreciation Day was created as a day for Americans to celebrate the importance of our automotive heritage, according to the Specialty Equipment Market Association, the group that created NCCAD. Thousands of collectors and enthusiasts will gather at car cruises, parades and other events across the country to enjoy America's great car culture, the SEMA statement continued.
