Happy Saturday Everybody, and Merry Christmas. For the last few years I've been promoting this thing I invented, National Actors' Day. Well today is National Actors' Day, December 21st. I'm going to reprint the original article pronouncing this special day in this space. Enjoy!
Actors need a special day. A day to resolve to take risks, to rush to embarrassment, to make strong choices. Actors need a day to celebrate everything being an actor entails. Actors need a day to acknowledge their worthiness and value to the world.
Veterans, bosses and secretaries all have a special day. Actors, whether they toil on stage, TV or film, need a day as well.
So I declare December 21st to be National Actors' Day. Spread the word. Make it known. Put it on your calendar. December 21st is a day to show your pride in being an actor, and for our audiences to show their appreciation for us.
Come December 21st, rejoice and celebrate!
Remember to do something for your career everyday and break a leg!
