National act to shoot video and perform live at Gasoline Alley tonight.
LARGO: National recording act, KOLE, will be bringing their unique sound to the Tampa Bay area when they perform live at Gasoline Alley on March 19th, along with special guests SugarBlood.
Before the live show, KOLE will be shooting a “closed set” music video at the popular Largo music venue. Then later that evening at 9:00pm, KOLE will be performing live on stage along with special guests, SugarBlood. During their performance this evening, KOLE will keep the cameras rolling, filming live footage to be included in the music video as well...it’s your chance to appear in a KOLE music video.
I’ve had the pleasure of speaking with front-man, Kole Kruger, on several occasions. Kole has stated that he is looking extremely forward to returning to Florida, and performing at Gasoline Alley. Kole has also invited me to attend the video shoot at Gasoline Alley, prior to their performance. Prior commitments keep me from taking him up on his offer, but I will be attending the live show later that evening.
About KOLE:
KOLE is definitly breaking ground in a new music industry, where the fans decide what they want. KOLE takes their ability to provide a memorable music experience seriously by exploring whatever genre they feel moved by. The bands lyrics contain powerful messages that everyone can relate to. With unique up-beat energy, the band compels listeners to move and sing along with the powerful harmonies. Scores of original songs powered by seasoned musicians, every track is its own ride.
“We’re really moved by the support we’ve received. People still love to get out and see a great show, and feel part of it. We are pretty grass-roots about that. Each of us is reachable and know that having a great time doing what we love is where it’s at.” - KOLE front-man and songwriter, Kole Kruger.
Kole Kruger is a Tampa Bay area native who became well-known in the bay area for his performances with Silver, Norcia and The Spoils. He leads the band with lead vocals and also plays keys, accompanied by Mike Norcia and Tom “Bone’s” Higgins on guitar, Jason Jennings on bass and Rob Knezs on drums.
The bands latest album, “Songs of Summer” (2009), stokes up sun-loving hearts with an up-beat and soulful blend of rock, reggae and pop. Caribbean flavors in "My Enemy" and "We Belong Together" were inspired by Kole Kruger’s 1993 collaboration with the Colorado based band, Burnt Lips. Other original songs include "Social X" and "Goodbye", with music videos for each featured on www.YouTube.com/Kolesmusic.
I have listend to this album myself, it is truly one amazing album that infuses several differant styles and genres of music into one amazingly mixed album. The one cover song that appears on the all original “Songs of Summer” album, is an amazingly unique remake of the Tom Petty hit song, “Don’t Do Me Like That.” Infused with a KOLE-like reggae beat, I personally was impressed beyond belief when I heard their cover of this song for the first time.
Fresh licks and beats give this album a super-punch, making it a must-hear. Available for purchase either by the album, or by-the-song download on KOLEspace.com. "SOS II", featuring more of the warm vibes we loved from this album, will be released this summer.
Along with the up-and-coming summer release of "SOS II", Kole is also currently recording a new album titled “Elements”. Described by the band as a choreography of elemental vibes that will take us on a hit-rendering KOLE adventure. The much anticipated cd will feature powerful rock, pop and metal elements in songs like “Blue Tomorrow” and “Hurricane”. Currently in production, “Elements” is scheduled to be released this spring.
When not touring and recording with KOLE, front man, Kole Kruger also plays in two other acts including the National Journey and Boston tribute band, Journy2Boston. Journy2Boston is a collaboration of musical talent from North Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida...celebrating the high energy rock n' roll classics of the legendary bands of Journey and Boston.
Kole Kruger also plays in a newly formed project called Shadows Down. Shadows Down is currently working on their debut album titled "Saving Grace", scheduled for release this summer.
If You Go:
KOLE, along with special guests SugarBlood, will be performing at Gasoline Alley on March 19th from 9:00pm - 3:00am. Tickets for the show are $7.00 at the door. The first 25 people through the door at 9:00pm will receive a free KOLE CD. Gasoline Alley is located in Largo at 14042 66th Street.
If you are already a KOLE fan, then you won’t want to miss this show. If you are not yet a KOLE fan...you soon will be. This show promises to be one you won’t soon forget...from an amazingly talented band.
