Nation's tallest Christmas tree lit at 'M' Resort

Thousands of Las Vegas locals and visitors of all ages braved the cold night air, on the evening of Saturday December 12th to witness the lighting of the nation's tallest Christmas tree at the 'M' Resort.

SUNY 106.5 radio personalities Melanie and Michael hosted the evenings festivities which took place outdoors by the pool. Entertainment included  'Canon Middle School Chorus' singing Christmas carols, a dance routine by the 'Dance Zone Company', and classical renditions of pop/rock tunes by 'Phat Strad', an all female electric string instrument quartet.

'M' Resorts founder and CEO, Anthony Marnell, along with his young son and daughter, threw the oversized light switch which turned on the impressive 22,000 lb White Fir from Oregon that he said "took 7 days to get in the ground and decorate". Marnell dedicated the tree to 'all the children in the valley who could not have a tree in their home". Prior to the event the attendees were encouraged to bring in canned goods, gently used coats and new unwrapped toys to benefit 'Three Square Food Bank', 'Catholic Charities' and 'Toys for Tots".

Hello Sir; Your photos are amazing, are they from a Canon or a Nikon?

    Good Job

    Hi Terra,

Thank you for your very kind comment.

They were shot with a Canon, but I have since then purchased a Nikon for all my future work. The Canon was great, but the Nikon will give me added versatility especially with regard red carpet shooting. The Nikon also has a few other features which will come in handy such as exposure bracketing and the pivoting view screen.

    Thanks,

    Stephen
