Nathan Sykes has always found Selena Gomez very attractive.
According to an interview with We Love Pop (via Hollywood Life, October 1, 2013), The Wanted member explained, "to be honest, I always liked Selena, but I really did not want to go that side because Justin would kill me! I would probably receive a call from [our manager] Scooter telling me to stay away! But she is splendid. She is perfect."
Sykes also talked about being tongue-tied when he saw her and Justin Bieber at a concert. "I must have looked like a complete idiot. My friends were like, ‘Just say hi,’ but I could not even talk to her!...But that’s how I am, I’m very, very nervous around girls that I really like. I need to improve my game. To be honest, I’m garbage anyway, I would be a terrible boyfriend."
Of course, pursuing Gomez is no longer an option, as he is now dating Ariana Grande.
On September 24, the 20-year-old musician went public about his relationship Grande. As he tweeted, "So, I guess it’s obvious now … 🙈 thanks to everyone who is being so lovely. I’m so happy ❤️ #butweareterrified #pleasedontkillme #orariana."
Grande added, "we hesitated saying anything as people can be a bit insensitive but thank u ♡ we value all of your happiness, thank you for valuing ours 💕:)"
Glad to see that the new couple is happy. Sure hope that he was joking when he said that he would be a "terrible boyfriend"!
