Not only were the Boston Bruins able to use their normal practice facility on Jan. 10, a familiar face joined the ranks of teammates tuning up for the start of the NHL season.
Nathan Horton, who last played an NHL game about a year ago, was part of the group at Ristuccia Memorial Arena. Better yet, he said he is ready to go and feeling fine.
He told John Bishop that he feels better than he has in "a long, long time" and that he hasn't really given much thought to his history of concussions. He even shared a laugh with Shawn Thornton and just seemed happy to be back in the Black and Gold.
A total of 15 Bruins attended today's practice, including Aaron Johnson, a defenseman who was signed back in July.
Originally cleared for contact in late July, Horton's forward motion was stymied by the lockout, but not anymore. He's able to practice with his linemate Milan Lucic, although his other linemate, David Krejci, has not yet returned to the United States.
